How to Hit a Homerun in Soccer

The Chapin’s out of Michigan and New York (Norm, Karen, Catherine, Matt and Anthony) came onboard with TSS over a year ago. Just as they were gaining momentum to book new business and start photographing organizations, the pandemic hit. Now that things are starting to return to normal, they picked up a soccer league in northern Michigan this spring for their first big job. With a May 1 date for their first weekend of photography, they spent multiple days practicing equipment setup and posing with zoom training sessions.

The league was booked for ViewFirst with the league providing full rosters with fresh and current contact data including multiple emails and cells for the parents. The rosters were separated into two weekends based on age groups and information/invites sent out to each parent. With complete contact data received ahead of time, it was possible to send out multiple broadcasts with photography information. This was especially important since the coaches were used to signing up for photos. Individual photos were taken as soon as athletes arrived and then the groups were done when the team was complete either prior to the game or after the game.

Four unique poses were taken of each participating athlete from full length to close-up to give the parents plenty of choices.
